Book Review: Split by J.B. Salsbury

What do you do when you wake up with no memory of what you did last night?

Lucas spent the first half of his life protecting himself from others, but now his own mind is his biggest enemy. He doesn't know what happens when the blackouts overtake him, but he can recall the feelings--the rage, the confusion, the fear. Thankfully the quiet life he's found in Payson, Arizona has kept the darkness at bay. Until his boss's estranged daughter shows up in town, asking questions she shouldn't and sparking a desire Lucas can't control. Getting close to Shyann is the best thing that's ever happened to him, but when his blackouts return, unleashing the truth he's battled so long to hide, he may just lose her forever . . .

Oh My God❕What to say about this one. This book is damn amazing and by this I mean this book is more than amazing. This book fucked with my mind and then left me with a horrible book hangover. Split is like nothing I've read before. This is just so good, so fresh and so unique. A perfect blend of angst and thrill. Split is so full of twists and turns and by this I mean jaw dropping twists and turns that left my head spinning. I wasn't even able to get my head over what was happening. In short this book is flipping the pages amazing and I love Split, Period!!

even when you're split.

Split introduces us to Lucas and Shyann. They both are complete opposites and as we all know opposites attract so they did too. Shyann is drawn to Lucas and she feels that something about him is not right like something is strange. Lucas is not an ordinary guy, he is much more than that. He is not stable, he is dangerous. He is the definition of trouble. Lucas is not what he seems and he is not what you think he is. I really don't want to spoil the story so I'm not going into the details, but guys believe me this one is worth reading.

I loved both Shyann and Lucas. Shyann was fierce and independent whereas Lucas was damaged, beautifully broken but undeniably strong. Lucas's sufferings just broke my heart. His past was so horrible. I wanted to hug him and cry my heart out. There was so much going on in their lives, both were fighting their own demons in their own way, but as it's said love find it's way so they fell for each other hard and deep, no matter the consequences.

Sometimes it felt like I was reading a love triangle, but don't worry guys, it's not a love triangle at all. It's far away from a love triangle. The plot is just so refreshing. This book is one of a kind. It's a psychological thriller like no other, the best. Throughout the book I kept on questioning, how the author would end this book, but Oh My My!! the ending was perfect and i wanted to cry some happy tears.

A big hand of applause for the author. She has done a great job on such a complex and unpredictable plot. The writing was perfect and polished. So the bottom line is, you have to read this book. If JB is a new author for you then you definitely have to give this one a try and I'm damn sure, you're going to love this.

BOOK REVIEW: BOUND BY VENGEANCE(born in blood mafia chronicles #5 ) BY CORA REILLY

Growl
He’d never had something to himself, never even dared to dream about owning something so precious. He was the unwanted bastard son who’d always had to content himself with the leftovers of others. And now they’d given him what only a few weeks ago had been out of his reach, someone he wasn’t even allowed to admire from afar, one of their most prized possessions. Thrown at his feet because he was who he was because they were certain he would break her. He was her punishment, a fate worse than death, a way to deliver the ultimate punishment to her father who had displeased them so greatly.

Cara
She had always been the good girl. It didn’t protect her.
She didn’t know his real name. People called him Growl to his face and the Bastard behind his back. Both were names he couldn’t possibly have chosen for himself. His eyes were empty, a mirror to throw back her own fear at her. He was a brutal hand of the Las Vegas Camorra.
And now she was at his mercy.

ARC Review: Intrepid by Keri Lake

In the corner house of an empty street, there is a boy inside a box. In that boy, there lives a secret, one so dark, it’s sealed with locks.

Nearly ten years have passed since the night I was captured. Tricked and betrayed, I suffered the hours of brutal torment with death’s cold whisper across my skin. And when the nameless faces that haunted my nightmares took everything and everyone I loved, I feared I’d never be free of the darkness.
But that's the thing about fear. Over time, it breeds anger, and when anger fills the box, vengeance bleeds out.
It's been almost a decade since I escaped their hell, staying in the shadows, hiding my demons, and God help them now that I've tasted retribution and crave more of it.
Blood is the price for pain, and I vow to take everything and everyone they love. I’m no longer a frightened boy, but the intrepid vigilante, a ruthless executioner, who will stop at nothing to punish the depraved few that stole my life and walked free.

The plan …

Lev by Aurora Belle

For the very first time in his life, he is affected. Having been told his entire life that he can't process or understand emotion, he considers it a big deal.

When Mina Harris gets caught red-handed with a wallet that isn't hers, she falls apart. She's tired, lonely and hasn't eaten in days.

Lev offers her an ultimatum... A nice warm bed, a hot meal and a job, or the cops.

Mina takes her chances with Lev.
After all, a person with nothing has nothing left to lose.

Review: Imperfect Misfits by Devanshi Sharma

Tiasha: I am very annoyed.
Aakaash: That’s your job, Tiasha. Good that you are doing it well.
Tiasha: And I am very serious.
Aakaash: When are you not!
Tiasha: Argh! I hate you, Aakaash.
Aakaash: Thank God for small mercies!
Just like a scoop of vanilla ice cream makes the sizzling chocolate brownie delicious, these best friends complimented each other. A chef by passion, Tiasha jumps and waves through her professional choices, while Aakaash, the witty stand-up comedian, knows exactly what he wants.
He was the tranquility which refugees crave to stay in and she was the refugee, who wanted to wander and explore. Imperfect Misfits is a story of perfect misfits, food, frolic, emotions and their endless imperfections.
The question is, will their friendship survive through this wavy journey of love?

ARC Review- The Boy And His Ribbon By Pepper Winters

“What do you do when you meet your soul mate? No wait…that’s too easy. What do you do when you meet your soul mate and have to spend a lifetime loving him in secret?
I’ll tell you what you do.
You lie.”

REN

Ren was eight when he learned that love doesn’t exist—that the one person who was supposed to adore him only cared how much he was worth.
His mother sold him and for two years, he lived in terror.
But then…he ran.
He thought he’d run on his own. Turned out, he took something of theirs by accident and it became the one thing he never wanted and the only thing he ever needed.

DELLA

I was young when I fell in love with him, when he switched from my world to my everything.
My parents bought him for cheap labour, just like they had with many other kids, and he had the scars to prove it.
At the start, he hated me, and I could understand why.
For years he was my worst enemy, fiercest protector, and dearest friend.
But by the end…he loved me.
The only problem was, he loved me in an entirely differe…
