ARC REVIEW: SILENCED BY LEDDY HARPER

As a young child, Killian Foster survives the unimaginable. Silenced and scarred, he keeps to himself, spending his time with his notebook in the woods behind his aunt’s house.

Until Rylee Anderson…

When Rylee spots Killian hopping over a fence next door, she follows him, unprepared for the boy she’d find—or the relationship that would unfold over the next seven years. Or the silence that would follow.

Fighting between the hate of his past and the promise of his future, Killian must make choices—ones that would affect more than himself. Choices that would test the lines of right and wrong. Decisions that could break the bond of the only love Killian knew.

Hate or love.

Revenge or forgiveness.

Silence or his voice.

"If I could, I'd steal the moon from the sky. I'd still the earth and keep it from turning into day"
                                                               ~Killian

What can I say about this book? "Silenced" has silenced me!! It sounds so cliche but yeah, this book has left me utterly speechless as in completely mute. It was such a beautiful ride and I really really adored this book!

Silenced is a perfect blend of romance, suspense, mystery and heartbreak. This book has everything:-
  • Sweet Mushy Romance- check
  • Heart Warming Friendship- check
  • Everlasting Love- check
  • Mystery- check
  • Tortured Hero- check
  • Dirty Talking- check
  • Alpha Male- check
  • Gut Wrenching Heartbreak- check
  • Cry Your Heart Out Emotions- check
  • Happily Ever After- check

Silenced is full of angst and twists. It's an ultimate page-turner. Once you'd start reading, you won't be able to put it down *mark my words* and I'm not exaggerating. My eyes were literally glued to kindle the entire night while I cuddled into my couch and guys believe me an entire night on a couch gives you a sore neck and the pain is so bad and yet I was on the couch reading this damned book! So yasss!!! Silenced was worth a sore neck with aching muscles. I think you'd get me now.

I loved how the story covered different stages of Rylee's and Killian's life. Their journey was so beautiful. Their love nurtured with time and they eventually developed an unbreakable bond. Both of them just fitted together. Silenced has a "childhood sweethearts" sort of vibe.

Killian's past made my heart ache. What he suffered and saw as a child, it was so terrible. I wanted to hug that little boy but you know I didn't *lol*. Killian was whole only when he had Rylee. Without Rylee, Killian's existence didn't matter.
"I feel like I'm in prison here.Trapped in my head, trapped in the nightmare, I can't shake it. But you...you're the only one who makes that go away."  ~Killian
One second you are all lovey-dovey full of pretty smiles and then out of the blue author drops the bomb and then separation, heartbreak, tears! At one moment I was so happy for them and what happened next left me gawking at my kindle. This book is full of surprises and definitely worth reading. This is the type of story that will always be in your heart

This is the story of a boy who lost his family when he was just a child and in the process lost power over his speech. This is the story of a man who loved from the core of his heart. This is the story of a prisoner who wanted freedom from his nightmares. This is the story of a girl who fixed the broken boy and ultimately found the love of her life!

When Killian spoke to Rylee for the first time. I was so caught up in that moment. It was perfect. It showed how much Killian trusted Rylee. Also the letters Killian used to leave for Rylee is my one of the favorite part of this book.

BOOK REVIEW: BOUND BY VENGEANCE(born in blood mafia chronicles #5 ) BY CORA REILLY

Growl
He’d never had something to himself, never even dared to dream about owning something so precious. He was the unwanted bastard son who’d always had to content himself with the leftovers of others. And now they’d given him what only a few weeks ago had been out of his reach, someone he wasn’t even allowed to admire from afar, one of their most prized possessions. Thrown at his feet because he was who he was because they were certain he would break her. He was her punishment, a fate worse than death, a way to deliver the ultimate punishment to her father who had displeased them so greatly.

Cara
She had always been the good girl. It didn’t protect her.
She didn’t know his real name. People called him Growl to his face and the Bastard behind his back. Both were names he couldn’t possibly have chosen for himself. His eyes were empty, a mirror to throw back her own fear at her. He was a brutal hand of the Las Vegas Camorra.
And now she was at his mercy.

REVIEW-- Ira Oberoi's Pursuit of Love by Niti Chopra

Sparkling and zesty with a dash of green, a Virgin Mojito is a unique blend up and Ira is one lucky girl to have found her Mojito – tall and handsome with green eyes, he is in every definition the intoxication for her. In a twist of tales, the traditional concept of the boy wooing the girl goes for a toss. Smitten at first sight, she boldly pursues her love interest, every bit candid and upfront about it.

But what is a concoction if not for a heady mix of elements? Her descriptive personal diary falls in the hands of her mother who, on the verge of a cardiac arrest, forbids her from getting into a relationship with the guy she has fallen for.  Will Ira stand up for the love that she has found?Or will she be the ideal daughter and keep the promise for her mother’s sake?

Will hers be a love story that finds it difficult to have a sweet ending or will it be the perfect fairytale to be remembered down the years?
Will Ira Oberoi’s Pursuit of Love be successful?

1. Devil In Winter (Wallflowers #3) By Lisa Kleypas
Some Quotes From Devil In Winter “Mysteries of attraction could not always be explained through logic. Sometimes the fractures in two separate souls became the very hinges that held them together.”  --------------
“If my love can hold you, I'll keep you with me.”
--------------
“Ah, Evie,” she heard him say softly, “I must have a heart, after all…because right now it aches like the devil.”
“Only your heart?” she asked ingenuously, making him laugh.
He lowered her to the bed, his eyes sparkling wickedly. “Also a few other things,” he conceded. “And as my wife, it’s your duty to ease all my aches.”

Plaza Requiem: Stories at the Edge of Ordinary Lives by Martha Batiz

Mexican-Canadian Martha Batiz has crafted, in her first collection written in English, visceral stories with piercing and evocative qualities. She has filled her recognizable, sisterly/motherly, and imaginative characters with qualities we all hold close to our hearts, but this is powerfully juxtaposed by the uncertainty that lurks at the edges of ordinary lives. Most often they are women, trapped in violent relationships, facing dangerous political situations, or learning to live with the pain of betrayal. Yet Batiz's stories shimmer with the emotional surge of vindication, evoking the rewards women attain after a powerful exploration of their darkest moments. As an emerging writer, Batiz crafts her stories with qualities reminiscent of Joyce Carol Oates, Shirley Jackson, and Cuban author Leonardo Padura: with precision, haunting vision, and the will to survive all odds.
